I am blessed as God continues to put many people in my life that speak truth and that are living for Jesus.
As we started helping with the launch of a new campus, I’ve been able to meet some pretty amazing people.
There is one gentleman who in a casual conversation spoke some words that really impacted my heart and my life.
We were talking about all the volunteering we do and why we love it so much.
He said ” You know, I don’t want to get to heaven and have Jesus ask me why I missed out on opportunities to serve Him because I was lazy”.
If you knew this gentleman you would know at almost 80 years old he is far from lazy when it comes to serving Jesus. In fact, he could run circles around all of us. He would do anything he could to reach a lost soul.
He loves Jesus and he loves people.
I want to be like this gentleman where the love of Jesus radiates through me all the time. He is a true example of being the hands and feet of Jesus on earth.
Romans 12:11 tells us “Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically!” (NLT)
That is how I want to live my life! It’s not about where I’m volunteering. It’s not for any specific person or area of the church. It’s about how much I LOVE Jesus and desperately want to go where He leads me to go!
Don’t get me wrong, I understand being tired, in fact I’m not sure there will be enough coffee today.
But, by keeping my eyes on Jesus I can’t help but be enthusiastic! I can’t help but have an energy only He can give!
Today, fix your eyes on Jesus, reflect what it will be like when you meet Him face to face.
