How Do You Serve?

Recently I was asked to share my story briefly. It’s not hard to share my story, however it is hard to be brief. How is it I can have this abundant supply of joy and energy when serving in any capacity in the church?
I do believe God putting a leader and his wife coaching us made all the difference in the world. Proverbs 27:17 talks about iron sharing iron. Watching them love Jesus like they do and being willing to serve in any capacity as well as loving others right where they were at has been life changing. They truly are the hands and feet of Jesus and I’m so glad they help mentor and guide us.

I found this image with the water and the towels, it truly says it all.  Jesus, the one without sin sent to save me, never said no when it came to serving.
He stopped and washed the feet of His disciples. He stopped when on His way somewhere to help others, to listen and was compassionate.  He never said He was too busy.
If we are called as followers of Christ to make disciples and love like Jesus, we have to change our hearts, perspective and attitudes.
Every time I leave my home I pray that God uses me.
Every time before I volunteer I pray that God uses me.
It’s important to pray for Him to use you how HE wants to, not how YOU want to be used. If you ask, you will not only bless others, but you will blessed as well.
That has changed my life. God has placed me serving and leading in areas I never thought possible. Through this I have watched God work miracles in other people’s life as well as my own.
As a volunteer, especially if you lead other volunteers,  it is so important to show joy, smile, and love people right where they are at in their lives. While they may not be exactly where they need to be in their walk with God, they will get there. God is working in their lives and through you.
Be willing  to serve in every capacity whether it’s where you want to or not; and do so without complaining.

It is not about our comfort it’s about reaching everyone we can for Jesus!

Like little children watch and learn from adults, people new to the church or volunteering learn from those in leadership positions.

Attitudes are contagious have an attitude that spreads the true love of Jesus working in your life!

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” Proverbs 27:17 ESV

“If you have a heart, if you care… then put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Forget yourself long enough to lend a helping hand.” Philippians 2:2 MSG

“Then He poured water in a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.” John 13:5 ESV
