Things Aren’t Always As They Seem: Transformation Tuesday

So many of my friends ( until tonight my husband is included in this) only know me for the person I am today.  On a daily basis I’m being told I’m so tiny or I need to eat a cheeseburger.

Here is the deal, I LOVE to eat.  However, I reached a point close to 200 pounds, when I decided I didn’t want to be that size anymore. I decided I wanted to be a healthy weight and be able to keep up with my daughter.

I made the decision when she was about two years old to do this on my own.

Within the first six months I lost 60 pounds.  Since I made that decision I have been at my current weight of 130 pounds for approximately 13 years. ( I actually got down to 115 at my lowest but my doctor told me to
put 15 pounds on to be healthy and I listened to her)
Here is what you need to know: I did this on my own, did not incorporate exercise, and I am a horrible eater!  I don’t like veggies and I’m not a huge fan of fruit. I’m a meat, potatoes and carbohydrates girl.

I successfully lost all that weight by simply watching my calorie intake. I also learned quickly to drink lots of water, half my body weight in ounces, daily. I weighed in every Monday on my own and logged my progress. By weighing in on Monday I was held accountable over the weekend.

Today, I still watch my calorie intake and walk regularly.

The thing about weight loss is it is a journey, not a destination.

You have to make up your mind you can and will do it.

You can’t give up! If you mess up and eat too much one day, you start over the next.

I’m posting this in hopes that it helps just one person.

You do not need an expensive gym membership or a magic pill that in reality is bad for you.

You need: faith in yourself, a journal, and a scale.

You have got this! Let today be the first day of your new journey!

If I can help, feel free to contact me!
