For over a week now I have been thinking about the ten families I know going through such severe trials. They will make it through one trial only to find another one waiting for them to go through. In the time I have spent studying the bible and praying for them I have realized how far I have come in my own life. How this heart of mine use to blame God, but now praises Him even in the midst of trials. Trials can make us closer to God and increase our faith, or if we let the enemy in during these trial it can damage our faith. I use to let it damage my faith, but no more. I have attended church the majority of my life. However, it was not until three years ago one of the wisest pastors I have ever met said “there are some things this side of heaven we may never understand” He went on to say we do not have to give the standard Christian answers because it is okay for us to not know the answers. We can grieve and pray for people without having to explain the actions of God. That is not our job, that is God’s job and He will decide when they can understand. It might not be until they reach heaven.
John 16:33 says “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” NIV version
Until Jesus comes again build your faith by praising Him in the storms. If you are currently not going through a storm, you can intercede with prayer for those in difficult situations around you.
Two of my favorite songs concerning trials are by Casting Crowns. I hope you find comfort in these songs as I have found. Be at peace friend, Jesus loves you more than anyone else ever could! He has your best interest at heart.
