Ladies,

This is for you…..

As women we love surprises, we love gifts and we love attention.  No husband is the same, and it is not fair to compare them to anyone else including those fairy tale stories we all dream about.

My husband would be the first person to tell you that he is not one to give gifts.  It is not that he does not love those people in his life, it is just not something he has ever been good at.  (These are his words not mine)

However, after our 3rd anniversary this month and my birthday 11 days later… I found him telling me he was sorry he did not get me anything and asked me what I wanted.

Truth is,there are a lot of things selfishly I might want…. then I sit back and think about my husband, how I first felt that connection with him at 16 and 24 years later I was blessed by God to find him again and to marry him.

He could go out and buy me anything and I am sure it would be a great gift, but the thing is he gives me gifts every single day.  He is a man of God, a man of integrity, an amazing father of our kids, a faithful servant in the church, he comes home to me every night, and he loves me unconditionally.  He never judges me, never condemns me.  He leads by example.  I have never went to work with him, but I know that he acts the same way at work as he does at home and in the church.

He often comes home and I have some story of how God led me to do something, whether it was a new adventure, or a financial expense that could not wait to discuss with him, and he FULLY supports me.

He is a true example of Ephesians 5:25

If you have a husband or significant other that carries these qualities you need to be thankful and feel fortunate.  We are in the minority ladies!

Single gals like I tell our teenage daughter… NEVER settle for anything less.  You deserve the best God has for you!

My husband won’t read this until it is posted…. but the one thing I want him to know is truthfully he never has to walk in the house again with a gift.  On a daily basis he gives me the very best gifts that are priceless.  I know I am by far the luckiest woman in the world. I do not always show my gratitude towards him and I can be hard to love at times, but he always loves me… right where I am and unconditionally.
